We received notice from a few gin members that some of their growers are receiving scam phone calls regarding their PPP Loans.  Apparently, the scammers are spoofing phone numbers that appear on caller ID as the local Sheriff’s Office.  The person tells them they are in violation of issues regarding their loan application and mentions they are subject to fraud charges.  They tell them they must pay a dollar amount to stay out of trouble.  These scammers are very detailed and have specific information on grower’s loan amounts, addresses, names, etc.  We are not sure whether this is a smaller local event or widespread.  Please be aware of this scam so you can update your growers as needed.
