There is a new TCEQ notification requirement for facilities with certain types of permits without an expiration date (open-ended), including certain Air Permits by Rule (PBR), Standard Permits (SP) and Tire Registrations. Companies with these types of permits must now report the operational status of the permitted facility annually to TCEQ. These are not the typical operating permits like most of you have with Special Conditions and Maximum Allowable Emissions Tables. TCEQ must quantify their statewide emissions more accurately. One of the ways to accomplish this is by tracking facilities with these types of open-ended permits to determine if they are still in operation or were shut down and can be removed from state emissions listing. We went through all of our TCEQ permit records to identify the facilities with these types of permits. Recently, Duncan sent out emails to the affected facilities with instructions on how to complete this notification. We are confident we identified all of the affected facilities, however, we do not want to miss anyone. If you have not received an email from us addressing this PBR/SP and/or Tire Notification topic AND you think you may have one of these types of open- ended permits/registrations, please contact Duncan McCook and he can either verify you are not required to perform this notification or he can add you to the list if your facility was missed.
